Pony Riders, Juniors and Adults competing in EV90 and above – you are required to complete the Qualifying Result sheet that forms part of the Standard Entry Form.

A Qualifying Results (QRs) Form, attached to the Entry Form, must be completed by each rider and submitted together with the Entry Form to the Organising Committee by the closing date of entry. This form must list the QRs for the horse and, when required, for the rider.

EV 100 @ NRA EVENT IN FEBRUARY

ALL EV 100 RIDERS TAKE NOTE:
The WP Eventing Committee have had a number of enquiries about a 1M class at NRA.

Because last year’s second show was cancelled, NRA eventing ran at a loss last year and they don’t have the funds to run the 1M class. The WP Eventing Committee have spoken to them and they are willing to run it if they are guaranteed sufficient entries.

Could everyone who would like to enter at 1M please let Merri Spratley know immediately (VIA E-MAIL – merri.spratley01@gmail.com) .

WP Eventing Committee will need to get an answer to NRA in the next couple of days to give them time to design and build the track.

EVENTING CLINICS

WP Eventing is delighted to welcome both Jean Philippe Camboulives and Alex Peternell back to Cape Town in the next two months!

Jean Philippe returns on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 February 2012. Please be informed that this clinic will be by invitation only, but spectators are very welcome!

Alex will be in Cape Town to give clinics to riders at all levels on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 March, in addition to the weekend of 10/11 March 2012. He will also be available for dressage sessions. Alex has qualified to ride at the 2012 London Olympics and has had super reviews from the riders on his clinics countrywide for his understanding and challenging approach to all three phases.

Cross Country Training Day

Kora House is a 43 hectare equestrian estate, half an hour from the centre of Cape Town, off the N7 (see attached map). There are two new cross-country courses to choose from which run through a forest and open grassland. On Sunday the courses may be completed twice and on Tuesday riders and their instructors may book a private 45 minute session (please call Bernd at Kora House on 083-270 9302 to see what time slots are available on Tuesday).

Class 1: 70cm & 80cm 1800m 17 jumps
Class 2: 90cm & 1m 2000m 20 jumps

CLINIC WITH DUTCH EVENT RIDER:

Anna Roberts Antonsson is organizing a 1 day clinic with Dutch Event Rider, Mirella Vrolijk at the NRA Showgrounds on Saturday 4^th February. She will also be available for individual lessons on Monday the 6^th of February.
Background:
Mirella is a member of the Dutch B-squad, currently running her own event yard in Belgium and competing on an international level. In 2006 and in 2007 she won the title of Dutch champion Eventing, with 2 different horses, that she had produced herself.
In 2008 and 2009 she had some nice successes in the World Cup events like CICW*** Fontainebleau and CIC***Lühmühlen, and competed in the HSBC World Cup Final Eventing 2008 in Deauville, France.
Mirella has also competed twice in the World Championships for young event horses in Le Lion d’Angers, France, both in 2004 and in 2009.
Mirella has been training with Clayton and Lucinda Fredericks ( www.team-fredericks.com), two world class Australian event riders, since 2006. She specializes in educating young horses and holds clinics in Holland on a regular basis.

Its 2012 and an exciting year for all sports with the 2012 Olympics !!
The WP Eventing Calendar will kick off with the first graded event of the year hosted by Noordhoek Riding Association in February (18th &19th). But even more exciting are all the upcoming clinics.

Jean Philippe Camboulives (National Eventing Trainer) will be in South Africa in February, we have provisional dates so far and it seems that he will be in the Cape on Friday, 24 February and Saturday, 25 February.
Alexander Peternell is hoping to visit again in early March to do more clinics – this is all dependent on his overseas competition calendar
Anna Roberts Antonsson is also organising a clinic with Dutch Event Rider, Mirella Vrolijk in February (advert to follow)

So there are many opportunities for all the WP Event Riders to brush up on their skills early on in the year.
