Cross Country Training Day

Kora House, Philadelphia

Sunday 12 February         Tuesday 14 February

Kora House is a 43 hectare equestrian estate, half an hour from the centre of Cape Town, off the N7 (see attached map).  There are two new cross-country courses to choose from which run through a forest and open grassland.  On Sunday the courses may be completed twice and on Tuesday riders and their instructors may book a private 45 minute session (please call Bernd at Kora House on 083-270 9302 to see what time slots are available on Tuesday).

Class 1:  70cm & 80cm   1800m   17 jumps
Class 2:  90cm & 1m        2000m   20 jumps

Ground levy per horse         R   50

CLINIC WITH DUTCH EVENT RIDER:

Anna Roberts Antonsson is organizing a 1 day clinic with Dutch Event Rider, Mirella Vrolijk at the NRA Showgrounds on Saturday 4th February. She will also be available for individual lessons on Monday the 6th of February.
Background:
Mirella is a member of the Dutch B-squad, currently running her own event yard in Belgium and competing on an international level. In 2006 and in 2007 she won the title of Dutch champion Eventing, with 2 different horses, that she had produced herself.
In 2008 and 2009 she had some nice successes in the World Cup events like CICW*** Fontainebleau and CIC***Lühmühlen, and competed in the HSBC World Cup Final Eventing 2008 in Deauville, France.
Mirella has also competed twice in the World Championships for young event horses in Le Lion d’Angers, France, both in 2004 and in 2009.
Mirella has been training with Clayton and Lucinda Fredericks ( www.team-fredericks.com), two world class Australian event riders, since 2006. She specializes in educating young horses and holds clinics in Holland on a regular basis.

NEWS

Its 2012 and an exciting year for all sports with the 2012 Olympics !!
The WP Eventing Calendar will kick off with the first graded event of the year hosted by Noordhoek Riding Association in February (18th &19th).  But even more exciting are all the upcoming clinics.

Jean Philippe Camboulives (National Eventing Trainer) will be in South Africa in February, we have provisional dates so far and it seems that he will be in the Cape on Friday, 24 February and Saturday, 25 February.
Alexander Peternell is hoping to visit again in early March to do more clinics – this is all dependent on his overseas competition calendar
Anna Roberts Antonsson is also organising a clinic with Dutch Event Rider, Mirella Vrolijk in February (advert to follow)

So there are many opportunities for all the WP Event Riders to brush up on their skills early on in the year.
